About Emily

On February 10th, we received news that no parent wants to hear, our precious 18 year old daughter, Emily, passed away. Her roommate at Clemson University found her unresponsive in her dorm room. It was later determined that she had a rare and undetected heart condition called ARVC. You can only imagine the utter shock and grief. The thought of not seeing her dimpled smile, hearing her infectious laugh and just doing life together on this earth was devastating.

But Emily left us a gift. On November 9th, 2015, Emily recorded a 55 second video sharing her testimony about her struggles as a young person and her renewed faith in Christ. It is a brief video, but very powerful and prophetic. Prior to her passing, it had been viewed only 165 times and in just a few short days after her death, that number grew to over 17,000 views. We are still heartbroken at the loss and will always grieve for her, but we know that Emily would want us to use her story to lead others to Christ.

If you met her, you would have immediately felt at ease and welcomed. She was that girl. The one you could count on to be there if you needed help. She had the typical challenges faced by most young people, but her faith in Christ came alive on the campus of Clemson, thanks in part to Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ). We want to continue her story and share the good news that became the core of who she was. Her faith changed her life. Our prayer is that her testimony will continue to be watched around the world and that those who do not know Christ will come to accept Him as their Savior. Emily's Heart for The Lord is part of continuing the work that became her passion. Please watch her testimony and share it with others if it touches your heart.

With our love and gratitude,

Don, Lisa and Bobby Faris
